AARP Connecticut Accepting Applications for 2019 Livable Communities Grant Program

AARP Connecticut will continue to expand on the national AARP Community Challenge with the second year of its local “Livable Communities Grant Program” dedicated to funding “quick-action” projects in Connecticut communities. The grant program is part of AARP’s Livable Communities initiative that aims to help neighborhoods, towns and cities to become great places for people of all ages.

“In support of our commitment to help people choose how they live as they age, we believe it is important to make sure communities have the resources and infrastructure they need to support people of all ages and abilities,” said Nora Duncan, State Director of AARP Connecticut. “The Livable Communities Grant Program helps nonprofits and local governments complete small projects that will improve public spaces, increase accessibility, create social connections, or otherwise enhance the community.”

The AARP Connecticut Livable Communities Grant Program is open to incorporated organizations that are 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) nonprofits and Connecticut government entities who seek to make improvements in their neighborhood or community in Connecticut.
